FASHION SHOW RULES

1) Costumes must be related to Japanese rock & pop bands.

2) Each entry has a maximum time of two minutes (120 sec.) on stage to exhibit his/her costume and interact with our emcee. You may be asked questions by our emcee, so please be prepared to discuss your costume on stage.

3) There is a maximum limit of 15 entries, on a first-come-first-serve basis.

4) In person Registration for the event takes place 3:30 on October 27at Jaxx Nightclub Springfield, VA.

5) All participants MUST have reference material of the band member you are portraying. Books, toys, cards, any sort of memorabilia is accepted, as without proper reference material, the judges cannot assess the visual accuracy of a costume.

6) Costumes will be assessed prior to the stage during registration of your costume for the fashion show. Craftsmanship is the assessment of the costumer's skill at making a costume. Although it is NOT a requirement that you make your costume, it is highly recommended that you put as much personal work into your outfit as possible. Again, our judges will be judging entries on their visual resemblence to live band members, as well as assessing the quality of the costumes.

TENTATIVE ITINERARY

To enter the Fashion Show, you must register your costume. Registration begins at 3:30 at Jaxx. Once you have filled out our registration form at the event, you will be given an entry number and directed to our judges who will be assessing costumes and reference material. Once a costume has been assessed, you are free to enjoy Akiba Fests' other activities. However, please listen for announcements as we will be lining up our Fashion entries to enjoy a bit of stage time to show off their costumes and interact with our emcees. Awards will be announced later in the show.

HELPFUL THINGS TO REMEMBER

1) For elaborate costumes, bring an emergency kit! Murphy's Law states that if anything can go wrong, it will... so be prepared. A small package of thread and needles, tape, scissors, safety pins etc., can go a long way.

2) Eat and drink beforehand! Don't starve yourself! Stage lights feel hot and the backstage area is a crowded place to feel dehydrated. Especially if you're in a hot, stuffy costume. Also, make sure to use the bathroom before getting into costume. There's nothing more disconcerting than being on stage and needing to use the facilities.

3) Please do not leave personal belongings unattended. Either leave them with a friend or in your vehicle.
